I'm currently member of a few mailing lists but I reckon this system isn't as user-friendly as a forum.

I agree ! But very often, on it list, there is possibility for direct E-mail joining for question or answer!
And, in my own experience, it's a good dayly (or less!) occasion for english readind interesting news, far from personnal busy works...( in surgery!!!!.... but in my office!!!- private information!!-)

But, at least , it's and so good training, is not'it !!!
