Voila, ma contribution...(a nouveau en anglais mais bon autrement ça prends encore plus de temps...)
It took me some time but here are some pictures…
Departure along Lake Leman for our trip across the Alps…
Quick pitstop at the Saltmines of Bex...
Beautiful heritage on our way to Aosta…
First (small) breakdown so we decided to split the group in two.
On our way to the ‘Grand St. Bernard col’, 2473m…
Yes, we made it(especially me with a 2,25 diesel and more then 2T…)
Our camp in Aosta(bit to close to the railway though…)
Roman heritage in Aosta…
Filling up our tanks somewhere in Northern-Italy…
On our way to ‘Colle della Finistere’…
Very nice ‘piste’ late in the afternoon…
Our camp for the night; 2500m above the sea…
Yves made us a real Swiss cheese fondue with enough tasty wine & Kirsch…
‘Early in the morning’, well actually not that early…
Old fortifications on the French-Italian boarder dating from 1870(?)…
Syncro power! Used to have a T3 myself(although not a 4x4)…
The youngest and the (nearly)oldest…
A ski-lift nearly as old as our Series I believe; only one seat…
And an even (much) older bridge; no risks were taken…
Never seen so many ski-resorts in just one week…
Only one night we had rain…
…but Pascale & Pierre made us a delicious Paella!
Only very minor repairs had to be carried out…
Picknick somewhere...
After Yves’ cheese fondue and P&P Paella we had to do a Belgian evening so: ‘steak and French fries’ (Belgian fries that is of course...)
Col de Tende…definitely not for the faint hearted…
Feeling dizzy aleady?

Sttt! Don’t disturb the locals...(had taken a picture of a ‘marmotte’ also but...)
Remains of an avalanche(with some casualties; mostly goats...)
We made it!
Nice seafood on the Italian Riviera…
OLLR is everywhere...See you!
We followed P&P to their home in the Haut-Var…
…and put up our tent in their garden to have a quick look at the lights(…) and the fluids(there are worse places to work a bit on an old LR I guess…)
We took the 88 to drive to the lake in style…
Last evening in the sunny South…
After a quick stop in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, discovering 3 campsites were ‘complet’ and then ‘paddle to the metal’ to Fontvieille(knew there is a camping without swimming-pool so probably not ‘complet) we had a €90,00 penalty for ignoring a stop(which everybody ignored btw. but that’s of course the reason why they are on that specific spot…). So as I told you; last evening in sunny France we came across some showers near Lyon…
…and decided to go to the lovely village(very small town) of Pérouges for my 38th birtday…
Now that’s what I call a ‘carte des vins’...
Nice small roads to Beaune…
Classic cars and garage…

Spotted! Yes!!!(Nuits Saint Georges)

Our latest night we spent at Lac du Der/Chantecoq…
And then Sunday, par ‘La Voie Sacrée’(could you imagine a better route...), heading for home…
Voila, that’s all for now folks.
Cheers,
Carl & An
